Grotto

This photograph was taken in the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes on North Rampart Street in New Orleans. A powerful vortex, this sanctuary has produced many miracles as the hundreds of "Thank You" plaques on the wall attest. (One of them is mine.) This image illustrates the power of collective thought. If it's better to light one candle than to curse the darkness, this relative inferno must surely catch the attention of the spirits.
