El
Nino de Atocha
We first encountered
this popular boy-God in the Sanctuario del Chimayo in New Mexico. Legend
has it that this inquisitive child wanders far and wide at night to appease
his curiosity, thus wearing out countless pairs of shoes. His shrine in
New Mexico is adorned with a mountain of white baby shoes given by devotees
to gain his favor. We honor him with candy in hopes that he will sweeten
our lives. He is a Remover of Obstacles.
El Nino products
are available as an 8x10 print, candle, T-shirt and greeting card.
