Cemetery Angel

In New Orleans cemeteries are known as Cities of the Dead. Under sea level and subject to frequent flooding, New Orleans houses bodies above ground in crypts. These range from the very simple to the highly ornate, conveying one's status in life or love of decoration. This angel resides in St. Louis Cemetery #1 in the French Quarter. It serves to protect the crypt and it's inhabitants. In light of the recent scandal in which cemetery artifacts were stolen and sold as antiques, this angel's assignment is timely.
